Seeing little black spiders with white dots? How about red ones with white dots? Those are not spiders, they are lanternfly nymphs and they don't fly, they hop. It is becoming a growing problem in New Jersey. Soon, if we don't get in front of this early, they will be everywhere in the summer months.
They are coming in on cargo trailers that supply food and lumber or from overseas to the port and spreading at a rapid pace. The female can lay 30 to 50 eggs in one season. The eggs lay dormant over the winter and then, in the Spring, we start seeing them in they're early nymph stage.
Superb Pest Control have been addressing this issue for years. We have created a 6 month plan that minimizes the lantern fly infestation over properties without damaging vegetation or wildlife.
